A inteligência artificial sob as lentes do antirrepresentacionismo maturaniano: implicações para a compreensão dos fenômenos do conhecer e do aprender

The purpose of this article is to discuss the understanding of the phenomena of human knowing and learning, that supports the origin of Artificial Intelligence, so to evidence the limits of “intelligent machines” facing the functioning of the human nervous system. For this, we present studies about neurophysiology of cognition published by Humberto Maturana in the context in which Artificial Intelligence became consolidated into the Cybernetics movement. This historical and bibliographic research suggests that the references and domains of interactions of the human nervous system, according to principles of Biology of Knowledge, may not reproduce in artificial cognitive systems. From Maturana´s point of view, the possibility of considering the phenomena of knowing and learning as processes occurred outside of natural domain is put in question and, it is stated that education consists of creating for children and young people a desirable relational space for human coexistence.
